Not What I Wanted to Tell Him (Cheyenne/Adam)

Cheyenne wiped her eyes as she stood in front of Adam's locker room. She'd come to see him but not for the reasons she'd wanted to. She was there to tell Adam she'd miscarried their third child.

Adam walked in and smiled when he saw Cheyenne but it dropped when he saw her tears. "Sweetie what's wrong?" He asked as he walked over and put his arms around her.

"Adam.......I.........I," Cheyenne couldn't bring herself to say it.

"You what sweetie?"

"I lost the......the baby," Cheyenne cried.

Adam stood in shock for a minute then pulled her closer. "It'll be ok babygirl. We can always try again later."

"No we can't," Cheyenne said. "The doctor said I'll never get pregnant again."

Adam held her tighter trying to digest this news. "Then we can always adopt or get a surragate. We have alot of options."

"You mean.....you still wanna be with me.......even though I'm worthless now?" Cheyenne asked.

"You would never be worthless to me. You've given me beautiful children and your my wife." Adam said as he looked down at her. "Is that what you were worried about?"

"That's how I was raised Adam, once a woman can't bear children she has no purpose," Cheyenne said.

"You have a purpose. You are a wonderful mom, you keep me grounded, a mother hen to Rai when she starts getting a little crazy, your a rock for alot of people. You will always have a purpose." Adam said looking into her eyes.

Cheyenne smiled a little and held onto Adam tightly.

Adam held her close. "I love you and I always will."

"I love you too Addy," Cheyenne said.

Adam kissed her and then pushed some of her hair back. "Did the doctor say why?"

"Too much damage to the uterine wall," Cheyenne said. "He recommends I get a total hysterectomy."

"Are you going to do what the doctor suggested?"

"I don't really want to, but what other choice do I have?" Cheyenne shrugged.

"Are you going to get a second opinion?"

Cheyenne shook her head. "I trust my doctor," Cheyenne said.

Adam nodded.

"Will you be there when I have it done?" Cheyenne asked.

"Of course I will."

Cheyenne nodded, resting her head against Adam's chest.
