The New Girl in Town

Callie slipped into a desk in the back of her third period English class. Her older brother Shannon had done a wonderful job at making her late for her first day at her new school. After two years in a psychiatric facility for teens this was Callie's first day back in the "real world". Sitting down, she pulled her hoodie over her head and hoped to remain unnoticed.

Matt took his seat and sighed.

Brian came in after him, followed by Hailey, who both took there seats.

"What's wrong baby?" Hailey asked.

"Mom's mad at me again."

"Why this time?" Hailey asked.

He shrugged. "No idea."

"Matt, what did you do?" Hailey asked.

"I honestly don't know."

Hailey shook her head, then noticed the new girl in the back.

"Matt, looked, Hailey pointed her out.

Matt noticed and got up. He walked over and sat down. "Hi."

"Hi," Callie muttered.

"I'm Matt Moore."

"Callie Moore," the brunette answered.

Matt nodded. "Um that's my brother Brian and my girlfriend Hailey Hardy."

Callie nodded.

Matt looked at her.

"What?" Callie said.

"Where are you from?"

"I'm from here, just haven't been to public school in a while," Callie said.

"Kinda cool we have the same last name."

"Yeah," Callie said. "Who's your dad?"

"Shannon Moore. He's my adopted dad."

"That's my brother," Callie said.

Matt raised a brow. "Really?"

Callie nodded.
