A Shoulder to Lean On (Rai/Shan)

Rai drove to Shannon's house in complete sadness. One of her good friends had passed away and she needed Shan.

Shannon sat on his front porch and waited.

Rai skidded her bike to a stop and got off. She took her helmet off and placed it on the seat she pulled off a glove and wiped at her eyes.

"C'mere," Shannon said softly.

Rai wrapped her arms around him and broke down for the first time in front of him. Only a few men have seen her cry.

Shannon held her closed and rubbed her back.

"He's gone Shan. He... they...." Rai shook her head crying more. She knew she needed to explain what is going on but she didn't know how. She had called Shannon up and told him she needed him and that she was on her way to his house.

"Shhhhh shhhh," Shannon whispered. "Talk to me when you're ready."

Rai nodded as she buried her face into his chest.

Shannon rubbed her back.

She pulled away and wiped at her eyes.

Shannon led her inside.

Rai followed him still a little shaken up.

Shannon sat on the couch and sat her in his lap.

She leaned her head against his shoulder. "One of my best friends growing up passed away." She whispered quietly.

"I'm sorry babe," Shannon said.

"He's gone Shan. My best friend is gone."

"I know babe," Shannon said.

"That's not the most of it. He left a will. He left me guardianship of his two five year old sons. How am I supposed to raise two little boys?"

"I'll help," Shannon said.

"Babe I can't ask you to do that." Rai said as she messed with his shirt. "You don't need to be responsible for two kids that aren't yours."

"You're not asking, I'm offering," Shannon said.

Rai smiled and looked up at him. "Your too good for me."

"Don't say that," Shannon said.

"Why?"
