Almost an Answered Prayer (Cailynn/Christopher)

He nodded and sat down.

Cailynn sighed. "I named my son after you," Cailynn said.

Chris looked up at her. "You did?"

"Christopher Matthew Hardy," Cailynn said. "He's 12."

Chris nodded. "How did his father feel about you naming him that?"

"Jeff was fine with it, he knew how much you meant to me," Cailynn said. "How much you still mean to me."

Chris nodded and looked at his hands.

"You were my first love Chris, I may have moved on but I'll never replace you," Cailynn said.

He nodded again.

Cailynn smiled as she heard the studio door swing open.

"Mom where are you?" Hailey asked.

"In the back Hailey," Cailynn called.

Chris looked up.

Hailey walked into the room but stopped in her track when she saw Christopher.

He stood up.

"How.....How can you be here?" Hailey asked.

"I had to fake my death."

Hailey shook her head.

"You can't be here," Hailey said.

"Why?"

"You just you just can't!" Hailey said.

"Hailey Cailynn sighed. "Be nice to your father."

"My father is in the house," Hailey said.

Chris bit his lip and ducked his head to hide the hurt in his eyes.

"He," Hailey pointed at Chris, "is nothing to me."

"Hailey Elizabeth Marie Delessio-Hardy!" Cailynn said.

"It's Hardy, Hailey Hardy" Hailey said.

Chris moved to leave.

"Don't," Cailynn said. "Please?"

"Cailynn she doesn't want me here."

"But I do," Cailynn said.

Chris sighed. "Cailynn I love you and I love Hailey but if you both don't want me to be here I shouldn't stay."
